Are you a moderate to advanced WordPress user, developer, designer or otherwise involved with WordPress? Do you have a presentation idea or concept that you feel would appeal to the attendees of WordCamp Charleston 2014?
Charleston’s first WordCamp will offer a variety of topics that will be of interest to WordPress users of all levels and focus on “Using” WordPress.
In the spirit of our 2014 theme, we want to provide content along the full continuum of competence of WordPress users, designer/developers. In addition to the hardcore developer sessions, we want to provide sessions for beginning and intermediate users, designers and developers.
If you’d like to speak this year, please read the WordCamp requirements for involvement as a Speaker, Sponsor or Volunteer. By filling out the speaker request form we will consider you agree to the guidelines.
Selection Process
All selections and submissions are reviewed by our committee. We cannot accept all submissions, and in fact the majority are NOT selected. Factors we look for in presentations are the degree of uniqueness and popularity of the topic, the speaker qualifications and experience (past speaking experience is NOT required though, since we will have first-time speakers at WordCamp Charleston), hometown of speaker (we try to keep a certain percentage of speakers local), and other factors.
We hope for a diverse group of engaging presentations. Our policy is that we don’t consider the race, sex, or religion to play a part in our selection process. We will try to have a variety of speakers of different backgrounds. We encourage everyone is qualified and capable to submit their idea for a presentation.
We look forward to receiving your your submission and ideas, submit your speaker application, and a member of our committee will contact you if you have been selected to speak.
